Sarah and Annie with bunnies

Sarah (on left) with Annie holding baby bunnies. These babies were the offspring of our old pet rabbit, Charlie, who was kindly given a home by my first cousin, Halley. Poor, over bunny-burdened, Halley.

Vital Statistics: Sarah Hoppe

Birthday: December 12, 1990

Hair: Blonde

Eyes: Blue

Current age/grade: 16, freshman in fall at Rock Valley College. Job: Program Assistant with Therapeutic Recreation Specialty for Rockford Park District in both the Blaze Sports Program and the Room 4 Kids programs.

Sarah's nickname is "Sprite" which fits her completely. She is sweet and bubbly! She loves kids and babysits often for neighbors. She is social and makes friends everywhere she goes. She has the ability to chat online with multiple friends she can have 8 chat windows open at once and still follow each conversation. She is not a "neat-nik" and I have to remind myself that a messy room is the mark of a creative mind.

Sarah is a gifted artist, and besides drawing on a regular basis, she also journals. She enjoys Harry Potter, quite a bit. In fact, she listens to podcasts of Mugglenet and is counting the days to the new book and movie. Sarah also reads Shakespeare though, along with books on world religions and anything else that interests her.
Online, she used to play Neopets. Now, thanks to my sister and her husband, it's World of WarCraft. She loves attending MDA camp every summer, as she has since 2000.
I think she is most like me out of the kids, and I'm not sure how good that is for her. She has become my Essential Right Arm, and frankly I'm not too sure how happy I'll be about her working outside the house, as she's the only one who has been ALWAYS willing to wake up in the morning, no matter how tired she is, and help me out. She picks Claire up from preschool, runs errands, and allows me to get rest. I wish I could afford to hire her.

Sarah is the healthiest of the kids, and luckily has only minor problems associated with mitochondrial disease, such as easy fatigue and muscle weakness. She has a great life ahead of her--she hopes to be a special education teacher, and I know she will be wonderful at it!
